I agree with the Tao Barbie ™, it's not something that can be resolved at a Yahoo address in a manner that benefits not) one (except perhaps as a catharsis for you. In fact, the answer could be applied here on Yahoo Answers also to 95% of the questions.

But I see the consequences of this myth is perpetuated, and create titles. It is suitable for the confusion of religion and chauvinistic patriotism. And I must admit, this misleading tactic has worked remarkably well for politicians of all persuasions, and especially in the last two presidential elections.

But do not think the common mistakes, skeptical that the proliferation of this kind of BS is intentionally misleading. Maybe. But when the flag painted cross increases, some people agree (and) as an idea, all ran with it. Note that the "people" who say that Christians especially (but not all Christians say). They say that no state and its legislation on the Judeo-Christian. This happens when you can not find anything other than the debate about the validity of certain laws.

Even a quick glance shows that the founding fathers came from a variety of religious beliefs, not only Deism. These assumptions are: Unity, Episcopal / Anglicans, Methodists, Quakers, atheists, agnostics, Christians (Protestant, not specified), and Catholics.

Do you really think all these people had signed a document Deist?
